Dr. Michael Caglia earned his B.A. degree from the University of San Diego and completed his M.D. degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. Dr. Caglia's prelim postgraduate medicine training was at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is currently in a pediatric dermatology research fellowship at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine under the mentorship of world renowned Sheila Friedlander, M.D. and Lawrence Eichenfield, M.D. There he plans to continue his current research project on isotrentinoin and begin others with special interest in pediatric and adult atopic dermatitis (Eczema). Dr. Caglia was elected to the IEA medical honor society and is a member the of American Medical Association and Skin Cancer Foundation. He is actively involved with developing research protocols and submission of clinical case reports. Outside the medical arena Dr. Caglia is also a competitive professional flyer of large-scale radio controlled aircraft and is working toward his private pilot airman certificate.
